Dear visitors,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our portal. We hope that the portal would provide the most important information that meets the needs of its visitors, including consumers, suppliers, and others, through its various sections that cover legislative, monitoring, and awareness aspects.
The consumer has been and still is, the cornerstone and pillar of the economic community. Consequently, developed societies, in general, no longer view him as a marginal element in the economic equation, but rather he is the main element around which the rest of the elements revolve. The process of "consumer protection" has become an important part of any economic reform project in various countries of the world.
From this standpoint, the Authority has sought since its inception to be worthy of national responsibility. It has been keen to play its national role entrusted with it in protecting the rights of consumers and safeguarding their interests through mechanisms that sought to distance themselves from traditionalism in interacting with consumer complaints and their needs. It has been at the level of responsibility and won the confidence and praise of society. Today, it has become a road map that is referred to in all international forums. This matter did not come out of anywhere, but rather is the result of a great effort made by the Authority's officials and its various cadres.
During the current and future stage, the Consumer Protection Authority aims to work according to a strategic plan with specific goals, visions and mechanisms consistent with (Oman Vision 2040), which targets "Oman in the ranks of developed countries" through several axes, including an economy with a competitive structure.
Today, as we continue the path, and receive the flag of the march, we assure that the Authority will continue on its way towards achieving more successes related to its set goals. The consumer will remain the cornerstone and the main pillar in terms of providing the necessary protection for him, ensuring his access to the best services at the most reasonable prices, and ensuring the continued implementation of policies and mechanisms that aim to provide a safe and secure consumer environment through activating the legislative, monitoring and awareness areas.
Here, I can only offer words of gratitude and thanks to Dr. Saeed bin Khamis Al Kaabi, the former chairman of the Authority, who made great efforts in promoting this institution from the first day of its establishment, and until it was able to be an important number in the list of service institutions in the Sultanate. I also thank all staff who left after completing their giving for the sake of the homeland through their roles and tasks that they presented through the Authority, and to all current workers who make every effort to serve the consumer and defend his rights.
Sulayem bin Ali bin Sulayem al-Hakmani
Chairman of the Authority
