The Directorate General of Consumer Protection Authority (DGCPA) in North Al Batinah Governorate successfully resolved a dispute between two customers and a company working in carpentry, blacksmithing and aluminum sector, and managed to recover OMR 2,400.This comes within the scope of the Authority's ongoing efforts to protect consumer rights.
DGCPA received complaints from two consumers who reported that a company did not meet its obligations as outlined in the contracts: one for a fence installation costing OMR 400 and the other for window fixing costing OMR 2000. Following standard procedures, DGCPA managed to reach an amicable settlement, the contracts were terminated and OMR 2400 paid in advance was refunded.
CPA urges service providers to comply with current consumer protection laws and meet their obligations to protect consumers' rights when delivering goods or services.
