Reviewing Efforts at the Central “Silal” Market Enhancing Knowledge Exchange Between Consumer Protection Departments

As part of efforts to strengthen institutional integration and exchange expertise among the Authority’s departments, the Consumer Protection Department in Barka received a team from the Consumer Protection Departments of North Al Sharqiyah (Ibra) and Al Dakhiliyah (Nizwa), as part of a field visit aimed at exploring practical experiences and sharing regulatory practices. The visit included a field tour of the central fruits and vegetables market “Silal,” during which participants reviewed operational mechanisms, monitored market activity, and ensured suppliers’ compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in addition to learning about key practices in field inspection. The visit also witnessed an exchange of expertise in market monitoring and handling field cases, contributing to unified efforts and enhanced efficiency of regulatory work across departments. The Consumer Protection Department in Barka also showcased its efforts in intensifying field inspections, monitoring market stability, and reinforcing compliance with regulations and legislation, in a way that supports consumer rights and strengthens confidence in the commercial environment. It is worth noting that this visit comes within the Authority’s approach to promoting joint work and knowledge sharing among its departments, contributing to the development of institutional performance and improving the efficiency of the regulatory system.
