The Consumer Protection Department in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, in cooperation with the Food Safety Center and the Municipal Department in the Wilayats of Al Hamra and Samail, carried out a series of joint field inspection and awareness visits, in conjunction with the approach of Eid Al-Fitr, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure market stability and protect consumers.
The visits targeted a number of commercial establishments and livestock enclosures in the Wilayats of Al Hamra and Samail, where inspection teams focused on verifying the commitment of traders and suppliers to clearly display prices and refrain from unjustified increases, and to comply with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law, its Implementing Regulation, and the decisions and circulars regulating the markets.
The efforts also included verifying the availability of essential goods and food products that witness increased demand during the Eid period, in addition to monitoring the prices of vegetables and fruits and ensuring their stability and availability in appropriate quantities. The teams also monitored suppliers’ compliance with the regulations and requirements related to the handling and trading of livestock, in a manner that ensures the safety and quality of the products offered.
It is worth noting that these visits are part of an integrated plan aimed at enhancing field supervision and raising the level of awareness among suppliers and consumers, thereby contributing to reducing improper practices and achieving balance in the markets.
The Authority also affirmed the continuation of inspection and awareness campaigns in the coming period, emphasizing the importance of suppliers’ compliance with laws and regulations, while also stressing its commitment to strengthening partnership and integration among various public and private institutions, in a manner that contributes to achieving a stable and secure marketing environment that meets consumer needs.
