The joint inspection team of the Consumer Protection Authority in South Al Batinah Governorate, represented by the Departments of Barka and Rustaq, conducted an inspection visit to the Silal Central Market, as part of efforts to strengthen market oversight.
The visit aimed to ensure the availability and stability of essential commodities in the market, in addition to verifying the compliance of traders and suppliers with the requirement to clearly display prices and not increase them without justification, in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law, its Implementing Regulation, and the decisions and circulars regulating the markets.
The inspection also included monitoring the prices of vegetables and fruits, assessing their availability in sufficient quantities to meet consumer needs, as well as ensuring compliance with sound commercial practices that safeguard consumer rights and maintain market stability.
These inspection visits are part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance field supervision, contributing to the provision of a stable and secure marketing environment and ensuring the protection of consumer rights across all governorates.
