His Excellency Mohammed Suleiman Al-Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, paid a visit to the office of the Joint Committee between the Consumer Protection Authority and a number of government entities in the governorate, in order to review the workflow and the efforts of institutional integration and joint coordination in monitoring market conditions and enhancing their stability.
This visit comes within the framework of the continued attention to supporting cooperation aimed at enhancing the efficiency of supervisory work and strengthening the roles of the concerned entities in monitoring markets, in a manner that contributes to achieving market discipline, ensuring the stability of commercial activity, protecting consumer rights, and safeguarding the public interest. During the visit, His Excellency listened to a briefing on the mandates of the Joint Committee Office, its working mechanism, and the roles it undertakes in coordinating efforts among the participating entities in a manner that ensures the integration of roles, the unification of procedures, and the exchange of information in a way that contributes to the rapid handling of observations and challenges related to markets. He also reviewed the most prominent tasks and functions carried out by the office in monitoring supervisory conditions and identifying changes that may affect market stability, in addition to the efforts made to ensure that commercial establishments comply with the applicable laws and regulations, particularly at the present time.
His Excellency, accompanied by the joint team, also visited the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market, where he reviewed the workflow, the smooth movement of commercial activity at the site, and the efforts made by the Directorate General of Consumer Protection in the Governorate of North Al Batinah and the competent supervisory authorities in monitoring the market in the field and ensuring that establishments and workers comply with the applicable regulations and requirements.
His Excellency also reviewed the level of coordination and cooperation among the members of the joint team and the integrative efforts they exert in the supervisory field, which enhance the effectiveness of fieldwork and contribute to achieving market discipline, protecting consumer rights, and ensuring the stability of the supply of essential goods.
His Excellency commended the level of cooperation and coordination existing among them and the positive outcomes achieved in supporting the supervisory system in the governorate and enhancing the rapid response to the requirements of the current phase, particularly in light of the continuous need to intensify field monitoring and ensure compliance with the conditions and regulations governing commercial and service activities.
This visit reflects the importance of the role played by joint committees and offices in consolidating the concepts of institutional partnership and building an integrated working system based on cooperation, coordination, and the exchange of expertise, thereby enhancing the efficiency of governmental efforts exerted in serving the community and supporting efforts aimed at providing a stable and safe market environment that responds to the needs of consumers and preserves their rights.
