Consumer Protection in North Al Sharqiyah Intensifies Its Inspection Visits to Markets

Wednesday 11 March 2026

The Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, along with the Consumer Protection Office in the Wilayat of Sinaw, continues to carry out its inspection and monitoring visits to markets across the various wilayats of the governorate. This comes as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen market oversight and ensure market stability with the approaching Eid Al-Fitr. The visits included a number of commercial establishments specializing in the sale of vegetables and fruits, women’s and men’s tailoring shops, in addition to accessories stores. During their field tours, the inspection teams focused on verifying suppliers’ compliance with the specified prices and ensuring the availability of essential goods and products that experience increased demand during this period. These visits also aimed to monitor the extent to which shops comply with the applicable laws and regulations, and to ensure that no legal violations exist that could affect consumers’ rights or the stability of markets, while providing suppliers with the necessary awareness and guidance regarding the importance of complying with the requirements regulating commercial activities. Consumer Protection affirms the continuation of its inspection and awareness efforts across the markets of the governorate to ensure the provision of a safe and stable shopping environment for consumers, particularly during seasons that witness increased purchasing activity and demand for goods ahead of Eid Al-Fitr.
