The Consumer Protection Authority in Al Buraimi Governorate carried out field inspection visits covering a number of shops and commercial centres in the governorate. This comes within the framework of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance market oversight, contributing to the achievement of the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 related to building a sustainable and competitive economy, reinforcing the principles of fairness and transparency in commercial transactions, and strengthening the protection of consumer rights.
These inspection visits aimed to ensure the availability of essential commodities in sufficient quantities to meet consumers’ needs, verify that such goods are offered at fair prices without any unjustified increases, and monitor the extent of suppliers’ compliance with the laws and regulations governing commercial activities. Such efforts contribute to enhancing market stability and providing a safe and sustainable consumer environment within the governorate.
During the visits, the competent specialists also monitored display and storage conditions, ensured the clarity of price labels on the goods offered for sale, and verified compliance with regulations related to the protection of consumer rights. The Authority affirmed the continuation of field monitoring and the taking of the necessary legal measures against any violations detected.
This visit comes as part of the Authority’s continuous efforts to enhance the efficiency of the regulatory system and to strengthen partnership with various commercial sectors, in a manner that supports market stability, reinforces confidence between consumers and suppliers, and contributes to achieving the desired national objectives.
