Dr. Abdulhakim bin Abdullah Al Ghailani, Director General of the General Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate, conducted a field visit to a number of markets in the Governorate to monitor market conditions during the Holy Month of Ramadan and to assess the extent of suppliers’ compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.
The visit aimed to ensure the availability of essential and Ramadan-related commodities in the markets and to verify the adequacy of stock levels, in addition to monitoring the quality of displayed products and price stability, in a manner that guarantees meeting consumers’ needs and ensuring that markets are not affected by any changes.
During the tour, the Director General of the General Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate reviewed the readiness of the markets, where it was observed that sufficient quantities of essential commodities were available, with no indicators of shortage or scarcity in supply, alongside continued daily monitoring of market movement and immediate handling of any observations or violations that may arise.
The visit also included monitoring suppliers’ compliance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations, the clarity of price display, and adherence to issuing invoices, thereby contributing to strengthening confidence between consumers and suppliers and consolidating the principles of transparency in commercial transactions.
The General Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate affirmed that it continues to implement intensive field inspection campaigns in cooperation with the relevant government entities, particularly during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 AH, calling upon consumers to cooperate and report any violations or observations through the approved communication channels, in a manner that enhances the protection of their rights and ensures market stability.
This visit comes within an integrated system of supervisory efforts implemented by the General Directorate of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate, to enhance market stability, ensure the continued availability of essential and Ramadan-related commodities, and consolidate the principles of transparency and fairness in commercial transactions, thereby contributing to the provision of a safe and stable marketing environment and reflecting the Directorate’s commitment to protecting consumer rights and achieving the highest levels of societal reassurance during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 AH.
