His Excellency Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, held a meeting this morning with Dr. Abdulhakim bin Abdullah Al Ghailani, Director General of the General Directorate of Consumer Protection in the Governorate, and members of the Joint Committee for Consumer Protection, to discuss a number of priority files and explore means of developing joint work, with the aim of ensuring market stability and enhancing institutional performance efficiency in North Al Batinah Governorate, in a manner that serves the public interest and aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The meeting addressed the monitoring of market movement during the Holy Month of Ramadan and the strengthening of oversight over commercial activities, in addition to discussing mechanisms for developing joint work in a manner that contributes to establishing a safe and stable consumer environment and protecting consumer rights.
The meeting also reviewed the supervisory and awareness efforts undertaken by the Directorate to ensure the availability of essential commodities of appropriate quality and at fair prices, in line with the requirements of the current phase and in service of the public interest.
The meeting with the Joint Committee further reviewed the Committee’s efforts for the year 2025 and the plan for 2026, in addition to the indicators and statistics related to the government services provided to the community.
Mechanisms to enhance coordination and integration of roles among government entities were also discussed in a manner that contributes to raising institutional performance efficiency and supporting the achievement of institutional stability in the Governorate. The meeting further emphasized the importance of consolidating a culture of teamwork and unifying visions among government entities, in a way that enhances the implementation of joint initiatives and programs and supports the paths of sustainable development.
It is worth noting that these meetings reflect the importance of integrating government efforts and strengthening institutional coordination to ensure market stability and improve the quality of services provided to the community, thereby establishing a safe and stable environment for consumers and supporting comprehensive development paths.
