The Consumer Protection Authority, in cooperation with Al Sarooj United Sands Company, has launched a recall campaign for (389) OTANI tires of 2024 models. To verify the chassis numbers, consumers can visit the recall website via the Consumer Protection Authority’s electronic portal at recall.cpa.gov.om.
The recall is due to the tread thickness exceeding the specifications at the tire shoulder, which causes the tire temperature to rise during high speeds — especially for tires classified under the (Y) category. Accordingly, the affected tires will be replaced with another category or brand.
This recall highlights the Authority’s efforts in promoting road safety in cooperation with agencies operating in the field and reflects its ongoing commitment to continuously review all products available in the Sultanate of Oman’s markets to ensure the necessary protection for consumers across all sectors.
