The Consumer Protection Authority, in collaboration with Oman Marketing and Services Company LLC (Omasco), has launched a recall campaign for 459 Honda vehicles, including the ZR-V, Electric Civic, and CR-V models from 2023 to 2025. Consumers can verify their VIN numbers by visiting the recall website on the Consumer Protection Authority's online portal (recall.pacp.gov.om).
This recall is due to insufficient grease in the worm gear engagement area of the EPS (Electric Power Steering) gears during use. This may increase sliding resistance in the engagement area, resulting in higher torque when changing direction, which could cause abnormal noise or, in severe cases, steering lock-up.
Honda is conducting this recall as a precautionary measure to mitigate risks, following the technical guidelines provided. All affected vehicles will be inspected and repaired at no cost to the owner.
These recalls reflect the Consumer Protection Authority's commitment to road safety, in collaboration with agencies in the sector. This initiative aligns with the authority’s continuous efforts to review all products available in Oman’s markets, ensuring consumer protection in various fields.
