Refund of More Than 600 Omani Rials to a Consumer in Al Dakhiliyah

The Consumer Protection Administration in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate successfully mediated an amicable settlement between a consumer and a business specializing in manufacturing building materials. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to uphold consumer rights and ensure fair trade practices. The case began when the administration received a complaint from a consumer who had entered into an agreement with a company to produce and deliver interlock tiles for his home within a month. The consumer had made an advance payment of 687 Omani rials. However, the company failed to meet the agreed-upon deadline and repeatedly delayed the delivery, prompting the consumer to escalate the matter to the authorities. After reviewing the complaint, the administration took the necessary measures, ultimately facilitating a settlement in which the contract was canceled, and the consumer was refunded the full amount paid in advance. The Consumer Protection Authority emphasizes the importance of suppliers adhering to established consumer protection laws and fulfilling their contractual obligations. Compliance with these regulations is essential to safeguarding consumer rights and maintaining trust in the marketplace.
