The Consumer Protection Authority, in collaboration with Oman Marketing and Services Company (OMASCO), has launched a recall campaign for 456 vehicles, including Honda Accord, Civic Electric, and LCR models (2023-2024). Consumers can verify the chassis numbers by visiting the recall section on the Consumer Protection Authority's online portal (recall.pacp.gov.om).
The recall is due to cracks in the fuel pump caused by improper production processes, leading to swelling and deformation. This can result in the leakage of gasoline vapors during vehicle operation, emitting large amounts of vapor in some cases. The required actions will be implemented as per the technical instructions provided by Honda.
This recall reflects the Authority's efforts to ensure road safety in collaboration with industry agencies. It aligns with its ongoing commitment to review all products available in Oman’s markets to provide necessary consumer protection across various fields.
