The Consumer Protection Authority organized a joint inspection campaign with the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Water Resources in the Central Wholesale Market for Fruits and Vegetables – Halban. This initiative is part of the joint campaign between the two entities to enhance and support field efforts in monitoring markets and commercial centers across various sectors in the Sultanate of Oman. The campaign aims to closely observe market conditions, improve the quality of services provided to consumers by suppliers, ensure market stability, assess the availability of goods, and evaluate their prices and affordability for consumers.
The campaign included achieving several objectives, such as assessing the availability of goods in the market and reviewing their prices to determine their appropriateness for consumers. This visit is part of a series of joint visits conducted by the Authority with various government entities in Oman to enhance and support field monitoring efforts in markets and commercial centers. The initiative also aims to directly interact with consumers and suppliers, ensuring the availability of goods in adequate quantities.
It is noteworthy that the Authority's participation in this joint campaign reflects its earnest commitment to protecting consumers from unfair practices, safeguarding their interests, preserving their rights, and collaborating with various government institutions.
