The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), in collaboration with Saud Bahwan Automotive, has launched a recall campaign for 182 Toyota LITE-ACEs 2022-2024. To verify chassis numbers, consumers can refer to the CPA recall page at its website (recall.pacp.gov.om).
This recall comes because the vehicles in question are equipped with a mechanical-type ignition key. Because the warning system for the key removal reminder on the dashboard is not activated, the alarm sound will not operate when the key is left in the key slot and the driver's side door can be opened. This is not compliant with the regulations in force in some countries.
Accordingly, the company will update the software and replace the steering lock holder if necessary.
This recall campaign underscores the CPA's unwavering commitment to traffic safety and its collaborative efforts with key stakeholders in the automotive industry. It aligns with the CPA's ongoing commitment to conducting comprehensive evaluations of products available in the markets of the Sultanate of Oman to ensure consumer protection across all sectors.
