CPA Chairman visits South Batinah Governorate markets in Barka to improve the level of work and services provided to consumers.

As part of a series of field visits to Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) directorates and departments across the governorates, His Excellency Salim bin Ali bin Salim Al Hakmani, Chairman of the CPA, recently visited South Batinah Governorate in Barka. The visit aimed to evaluate work progress, assess market conditions, strengthen CPA’s role, and enhance the quality of its performance and services. Additionally, it sought to review the ongoing efforts in market monitoring and regulation. During the visit, Al Hakmani toured the Barka Industrial Market along with various shops, commercial centers, and other sectors to verify the availability and stability of goods and ensure suppliers' compliance with consumer protection laws, executive regulations, and related decisions. The visit also included an assessment of the implementation of the unified contracts initiative and its impact on commercial transactions. The Chairman also focused on gathering consumer feedback, addressing complaints and reports, and reviewing the CPA’s on-ground enforcement procedures. Meetings were held with small and medium enterprise (SME) providers to monitor their progress and provide support. Al Hakmani interacted with suppliers across various sectors, encouraging them to adhere to the prevailing laws, regulations, and systems while emphasizing their responsibility toward consumer protection. He also urged them to maintain their collaboration with the CPA. Additionally, he engaged with consumers, listening to their observations and suggestions to further enhance the CPA’s effectiveness and ensure consumer interests are prioritized. These field visits across the governorates reflect CPA's commitment to improving work standards and services offered to consumers, effectively monitoring markets, expediting service delivery, and fostering collaboration with specialized state institutions.
