His Excellency Sulayem bin Ali bin Sulayem Al Hakmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), recently conducted field visits to popular markets and commercial centers in the wilayats of Samail and Izki in Al Dakhiliya Governorate. This visit is part of a series of inspections His Excellency is undertaking across governorates to assess market conditions, review operational progress, and reinforce CPA's commitment to ensuring high-quality service and performance.
During the tour, His Excellency inspected various popular shops specializing in foodstuffs and consumer goods, as well as several commercial centers, to verify compliance with relevant consumer protection laws, regulations, and CPA-issued directives. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the terms of the unified contracts initiative and ensuring that price lists and service details are visibly available, as these measures are essential for organizing transactions between providers and consumers.
In addition to the inspections, His Excellency engaged with consumers, gathering their feedback and discussing complaints and reports to understand the immediate response mechanisms in place by CPA staff. This included assessing the efficacy of on-the-ground procedures implemented by CPA teams.
On the sidelines of the visit, His Excellency met with suppliers, urging them to adhere to all laws and regulations, recognize their role in consumer protection, and support Omani producers and institutions. He encouraged them to prioritize Omani manufacturers and service providers, promoting Omani products as the preferred choice. Additionally, he listened to comments and suggestions from consumers, aiming to further enhance CPA's performance in serving the public interest and strengthening consumer rights.
