The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in collaboration with Saud Bahwan Auto Group has launched a recall campaign for 506 Kia Telluride (ON) 2019-2023 vehicles. To verify the chassis numbers, consumers can refer to the recall page on the CPA's website (recall.pacp.gov.om). This recall for vehicles manufactured between January 2019 - May 2024 is due to the movement of the rear cover of the electric seat switch in the event of an external impact with excessive force on the side cover of the electric front seat or the sliding knob of the seat. This may result in the seat engine control switch not being internally aligned with the stuck seat sliding knob, resulting in continuous operation of the engine. This causes the engine to overheat and may catch fire while driving or parking the vehicle. Therefore, the company will inspect the front seat motor control switch and repair or replace the seat drive control switch and seat sliding knob. This recall campaign underscores the CPA's unwavering commitment to traffic safety and its collaborative efforts with key stakeholders in the automotive industry. It aligns with the CPA's ongoing commitment to conducting comprehensive evaluations of products available in the markets of the Sultanate of Oman to ensure consumer protection across all sectors.
