Recall of Mazda CX-60 2023 models due to inappropriate clutch control during deceleration

Monday 8 July 2024

The Consumer Protection Authority, in cooperation with Towell Auto Group, launched a recall campaign for 48 Mazda CX-60 2023 models. To verify the chassis numbers, consumers can refer to the recall site on the electronic portal of the Consumer Protection Authority recall.pacp.gov.om. The recall is due to inappropriate clutch control during deceleration, the clutch may be released with delayed timing, or engaged at unintended timing while decelerating. The engine speed may decrease during deceleration and in the worst case, result in engine stall at low speed. Once the vehicle power is switched OFF, the engine can be restarted. Therefore, the auto agency will use the Transmission Control Module (TCM) to reprogram the control unit of the transmission system. These recalls confirm the efforts made by CPA in traffic safety in cooperation with auto agencies. They are also in line with its constant keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the markets of the Sultanate of Oman to provide the necessary protection for consumers in all fields.
