CPA Chairman visits Al Batinah North Governorate to review market preparations before Eid Al Adha

His Excellency Sulayem bin Ali bin Sulayem Al Hakmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), recently visited the Al Batinah North Governorate as part of his series of field visits to various governorates in Oman. The purpose of these visits is to enhance communication with consumers, follow up on the progress of work at CPA’s offices, review the efforts made by CPA staff, and check these efforts in reality. During the visit, a meeting took place between Al Hakmani Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of Al Batinah North. The agenda of the meeting focused on topics related to enhancing cooperation in areas related to consumer protection, including market monitoring, inspections, observations, proposals, and improving the overall performance and effectiveness of the CPA. A visual presentation was given by Al Hakmani, highlighting the competencies of the CPA and the powers granted to its divisions in the governorates. He highlighted the efforts made to control and monitor the markets, take notes enhance cooperation and improve performance. He covered the efforts made to promote decentralization and implement training and rehabilitation programs. The presentation also showcased significant initiatives and awareness campaigns undertaken by the CPA, along with key statistical indicators of the authority's efforts in 2023. He also reviewed the CPA powers, efforts to enhance decentralization speed up the processing of transactions, and improve the quality of services rendered to the public. CPA Chairman, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources also visited the Logistic City in Liwa. They were briefed on the aims of the one-window station and the services rendered by it to ensure quality and safety. He also reviewed the services rendered by the city to ensure the smooth movement of trucks and containers at the land ports. As part of the visit, Al Hakmani conducted a field tour of the central veg and fruits market in Al Batinah North Governorate to ensure that enough commodities are available at the market and that suppliers comply with the laws and regulations, especially at the advent of Edi Al Adha. Al Hakmani also interacted with consumers and suppliers and highlighted the need to ensure enough supplies of veg and fruits at the advent of Eid as many families will need additional quantities. He also met several consumers and listened to their needs and proposals. After the visit, Al Hakmani met with the employees of the Consumer Protection Department in Al Batinah North Governorate. He praised the efforts made by them to provide high-quality services to consumers and monitor the markets. He hoped that efforts would continue to promote the service provided to consumers and ensure speedy services to consumers.
