Through amicable settlement, more than OMR 13,000 refund for a consumer in Al Dhahira

As part of its efforts to restore and preserve the rights of consumers, and restore them in the event of a violation by all available means, the Consumer Protection Department in Al Dhahirah Governorate was recently able to reach an amicable settlement between a consumer and a car dealership. According to the complaint, the consumer had paid a deposit of OMR200 and was later asked by the dealership to pay an additional amount of OMR13400. The delivery of the vehicle was delayed multiple times, causing inconvenience to the consumer. In response to the complaint, the Consumer Protection Department initiated an investigation involving the agency representative. After the investigation, a settlement was reached between the consumer and the agency representative. As part of the settlement, the agency agreed to return the full amount that the consumer had paid. This means that the consumer will be refunded the deposit of OMR200 as well as the additional amount of OMR13400. The Consumer Protection Authority emphasizes its commitment to protecting consumer rights and dealing with complaints through the appropriate legal procedures. Consumers who experience violations of their rights can contact the CPA through designated communication channels. The CPA also appreciates the cooperation between consumers and service providers in reaching settlements and resolving complaints amicably. Additionally, it encourages everyone to comply with the laws and decisions issued by the Consumer Protection Authority.
