Recall of 17 Mercedes-Benz vehicles 2021-2024

Thursday 25 April 2024

The Consumer Protection Authority CPA, in cooperation with Zawawi Automotive Company, has launched a recall campaign for 17 Mercedes-Benz CLS, AMG-GT, E 2021-2024 models. To verify the chassis numbers, consumers can log in to the recall website on the portal of the Consumer Protection Authority recall.pacp.gov.om. The recall comes because if the ground cable is not correctly secured, the electrical resistance and heat in the connection could increase. Were this to happen, a fire could be triggered. If a vehicle encounters a 48-volt system error because of the fault, warning messages will be displayed in the instrument cluster relating to the 48-volt onboard power supply. Accordingly, the Company will inspect the ground joint screws in the affected vehicles, and perform the required repair if necessary. The company's customer service team will contact the customers whose vehicles are affected to book a date for serviced at their convenience, starting from 22/4/2024. These recalls confirm the efforts made by CPA in the field of traffic safety in cooperation with auto agencies. They are also in line with its constant keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the markets of the Sultanate of Oman to provide the necessary protection for consumers in all fields.
