Al-Hakmani visits Al Dakhiliyah Governorate to verify the needs of consumers

His Excellency Sulayem bin Ali bin Sulayem Al Hakmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), recently visited Al Dakhiliyah Governorate as part of his series of field visits to various governorates in Oman. The purpose of these visits is to assess the needs of the consumer community and align the efforts of the CPA with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, as directed by His Majesty. During the visit, a meeting took place between Al Hakmani and His Excellency Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed bin Hamdan Al Hajri, the Governor of Al Dakhiliyah. The agenda of the meeting focused on topics related to consumer protection, including market monitoring, inspections, observations, proposals, and improving the overall performance and effectiveness of the CPA. A visual presentation was given by Al Hakmani, highlighting the competencies of the CPA and the powers granted to its divisions in the governorates. The presentation also showcased significant initiatives and awareness campaigns undertaken by the CPA, along with key statistical indicators of the authority's efforts in 2023. As part of the visit, Al Hakmani conducted a field tour of the markets in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, where he interacted with consumers and suppliers, listened to their needs, and discussed the challenges they face. He emphasized that the CPA is committed to addressing these challenges and finding suitable solutions. After the visit, Al Hakmani met with the employees of the Consumer Protection Department in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. He was briefed on the progress of work in the governorate, particularly regarding market monitoring, consumer observations, report verification, and the procedures followed by the CPA in accordance with its competencies. This visit is part of the CPA's communication initiative, aimed at fostering better communication with the consumer community, ensuring the availability and stability of goods, and ensuring suppliers' compliance with the laws and decisions issued by the CPA. The meeting also sought to monitor the progress of CPA departments and offices, as well as acknowledge the efforts of its employees in the field.
