The Consumer Protection Authority in cooperation with the International Auto Reliance Company, launched a recall campaign for 20 Kia Carens cars which were produced during the period from April 30, 2022 to September 8, 2022, based on chassis numbers from (MZBGC8149PN011851) to (MZBGC8117PN048161).
This recall is due to an error in the air bag control module software memory which triggers the airbag warning signal on the dashboard in the cluster due to the relevant diagnostic trouble codes generated in the system (C128381,C164308) which causes the air bags to not deploy during the occurrence of an accident and the risk of injuries. Accordingly, the company will update the airbag control unit.
These recalls confirm the efforts made by the authority in the field of traffic safety in cooperation with car agencies, to preserve the lives and safety of consumers and provide them with the necessary protection and in line with its continuous keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the Sultanate’s markets.
