The Judicial officers in PACP went to the concerned bakery after receiving a complaint from a consumer regarding the manipulation of the number of bread loaves in every bag , the charge has been corroborated after examination on site which constitutes a violation of Resolution No.12/2011 , based on that , the Authority taken the necessary measures and interrogated the owner of the bakery who admitted to the charge of putting less number of bread loaves , he also provided unconvincing excusing for that behavior. the management referred the case to the General Prosecution which referred the case to the court which ruled on the conviction of the accused as well as obligating him to pay 3000 OMR in fines

The deceptive manager of one of the bakeries , has omitted one loaf of bread from every bag in order to pocket more profit for less loaves of bread , therefore instead of usual 7 in every bag , the manager intentionally was packing only 6 to be discovered by one of his regular customers . Son : dad the bag contains 6 loaves as usual ... Father : make sure it's the same in all the bags , maybe there is a mistake Son: No dad , I have counted every loaf in all the bags and there is only 6 in each one ! Father : That is surely not a coincidence since it is the first time this has happened to us ! Son : what are you going to do dad ? go and return them ? Father : no son , it's a matter of intentional manipulation , being passive about it is tantamount of being satisfied with it , we must therefore , alert PACP and they will look into the matter

The Judicial officers noticed that consumers come very frequently to a specific shop during one of the inspection tours which raised their suspicions to strengthening the monitoring and follow up on that matter , students were spotted in the shop as well , the Officers expediently intervened to inspect the shop , the inspection did not reveal anything at first , however , the officers noticed a stack of books and decided to inspect it , surprisingly , they found more than 600 pouches of chewing tobacco on its way to be sold and distributed on consumers and students , the officers immediately issued a violation and referred the case to the General Prosecution to deal with the matter as per the Law

No one imagined that greed and deviousness would reach such a staggering level that thought exist only in movies and investigative drama shows , yet it became a stark reality when some merchants sought to make a profit on the account of health and safety of the young and adults alike utilizing the God-given intellect that they posses into destruction and evil instead of serving public good , the devious plan used ( Back to school ) season by carving holes inside books and hiding chewing tobacco inside in away from the inspectors notice targeting the younger generation with these destructive materials that effect the health , mind and safety of our kids .

the complaint has been transferred from the call center ( Consumer Line ) to the Judicial officials who went to the concern commercial center and after a review , it has been proven that there was indeed a violation represented by obscene kiddy toys that insult the public sense of decency , the manager of the commercial center has been summoned and referred to the General Prosecution after collecting the related data and evidence , the General Prosecution ruled against the defendant and ordered that the goods be confiscated and destroyed as per Article 21 of Consumer Protection Law that states : " The supplier has to respect traditions , norms and religious values when providing goods or presenting services to consumers

The Preservation of society and the respect of law come from the adherence of the supplier to the traditions , norms and religious values when providing any service or displaying any product to be sold . A Phone call to PACP call center : Consumer : Alsalam alaikum , is this PACP ? PACP Employee : Wa alaikum Al salam , yes sir , how may I help you ? Consumer : I am at the commercial center , I want to report it to you , because there are many obscene kiddy toys in here that insult the public decency , are you handling such violations ? PACP Employee : Yes sir , we thank you for your sense of responsibility and concern and I would like to kindly request photographs of the toys that you are referring to and I will take some information from and then I will transfer you to the concerned department to take the necessary action

The complaint has been filed and stated that the vendor is selling Rogin Olive Oil ( lesser quality , Italian Produced olive oil ) as premium , extra virgin olive oil, Judicial Officers caught the vendor indeed filling the bottles with the lesser quality olive oil then sell them as Al Qudus Pure , Premium , Extra Virgin olive oil , furthermore , there was a discrepancy between the labels of the bottles and the big oil bottle that was lacking a label and validity dates ‭The accused indeed admitted that the displayed product is not pure olive oil produced by Al Qudus , and he resorted to that sort of action for advertisement and deliberately mislabeled the products ‭ The violator has been referred to the General Prosecution after completing his case file and consolidating it with information , The Honorable judge ruled against the accused and charged him with the misdemeanor of selling counterfeit goods and the misdemeanor of selling goods without providing information to the consumers about it as well as a misdemeanor of consumer subterfuge in terms of the nature of the products distribution , composition and source , the court ruled for fining the accused on every charged and confiscating all concerned products to be destroyed . My Cousin's warning was spot on when he confirms to me that the olive oil he purchases from one of the vendors was in fact inauthentic and fake , when I asked him how could he possibly know that ? he said : I have a prior experience in which I discovered that the bottle has no label and has no production and expiration date , would you trust any product without knowing exactly what it is and what is its source ? valid questions indeed , guided by the sheer logic of his questions , and to prevent the damage on further consumers , I called PACP

judicial Officials visited the place that consumers have reported and express their suspicions regarding the quality of meats served by some kiosks , The officers found that many consumers suffer immediate vomiting as soon as they start consuming these meets , the initial testing of these meats revealed that they are invalid therefore the material have been seized and send to Labs in the Municipality of Dhofar for testing that proved the meats are unfit for human consumption ,therefore a information gathering team has been formed to investigate the matter and to monitor such mystery meats A coordination with ROP based on confirmed information has lead to the capture of a foreign worker distributing import meats in huge quantities in special vehicles purporting that they are locally produced meats after adding Camel fat to it to disguise the flavor and to give it that quasi-authentic taste , the worker revealed the main source of distribution of such meats which was providing other ships therefore a coordination with General prosecution commenced to obtain the necessary warrants to inspect the place which resulted in the capturing of foreign workers red handed as they were dealing with these mystery meats in filthy and unsanitary places surrounded by toilets and completely devoid of any hygiene The concerned foreign workers have been faced with the evidence and admitted that he was mixing the mystery meats with Camel fat then distribute them as local Camel meat to be bought by Muthaibi temporary shops , and when the fat melts during the cooking process , it produces the same smell and taste as local meat Therefore , the arrest record has been forwarded by the specialists of PACP to the General Prosecution to refer it to the concerned court

The reported cases of vomiting have lead the Judicial officers to follow a lead on this case and reveal the details of the crime the victims of which were many consumers , residents and visitors who were used to buy Mishakik and Muthabi to enjoy its scrumptious taste in the beautiful atmosphere , little did they know , these meats were unfit for human consumption due to the manipulation of foreign workers and tampering with the quality of these meats with no responsibility , no conscience and with complete disregard to the health and wellbeing of the consumers therefore it represented a grave danger on consumers that might constitute a health risk

Judicial Officers went to the Commercial Center upon receiving a call from the consumer to identify the type of violation and to take all investigatory measures , the reported was indeed a violation and an attempt to trick consumers in terms of products and displaying them unlabeled and without a validity date , therefore , the violation has been referred to the General Prosecution to investigate with the defendants and then to stand before the court : the court ruled against the Defendants and ordered a fine and a confiscation of the products to be destroyed for violating the Law Of Consumer Protection No.66/2014 (Article 14) - Consumer rights A-B-

During the weekly tour in one of the commercial centers , I have encountered some unintentional violations but what attracted my attention was the display of a product with no validity date and no info label , I did not want that pass unnoticed so I requested to speak to the manager of the center to clarity that matter for me since I am a consumer , the manager showed up and the following conversation took place between us . Consumer : Why there is no validity date on this product? Center Manager : its well-known product therefore it's not a problem Consumer : how can the product be known and it has no Nutrition Info label as well ? Center Manager : People know this product for years and they have being continuously purchasing it , we received no complaints or notes about it consumer : But this is a clear violation that infringes on my right to get information about the product that I am purchasing . Center Manager : people don't care about that Consumer : Does the callousness of some people give the right to break the law and violate the rights of the consumers ? PACP must intervene on this matter

The Judicial officers seized all expired products, issued a violation minute, and referred the case to the specified judicial authorities

While performing normal markets monitoring and inspection, judicial officers have detected a restaurant selling expired dairy products.

PACP team investigated these agencies and took several measures to prove the low quality of the tyres sold. PACP further witnessed that the agencies were abandoning their responsibility to replace those tires claiming that the damage is not due to manufacturing defects but misuse from consumers. A number of violations were issued to these agencies for their non-conformance with consumer protection laws and regulations.

Some agencies are selling tyres which get cracked and damaged in less than four months, and they are not willing to compensate the customers.

After receiving to the complaint, PACP team proceeded their work by contacting the listed company and took several measures to prove that claim to be legitimate. Thus, a violation minute was issued to that company and they referred the case to the relevant judicial authorities which ruled a fine of 200 Riyals and compelled him for expenditures along with assignment of the civil action to the specialized court.

A consumer has filed a complaint against one of the furniture companies for failing to deliver him goods on schedule. After continuous delay he filed this complaint against that company.

Complaint: A malfunction in the rear sensor of the vehicle

Settlement: The Auto Agency agreed to take back vehicle and take back OMR13,500 to the consumer
