His Excellency Sulayem Ali Sulayem Al-Hakmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority, accompanied by a team of inspectors and judicial enforcement specialists from the Market Monitoring Department, conducted an inspection tour of several shops and commercial centers in the markets of Muscat Governorate. The tour aimed to assess the availability of goods, monitor promotional offers, and ensure that suppliers comply with the laws, regulations, and guidelines related to consumer protection.
During his visit, His Excellency Al-Hakmani engaged with consumers, listening to their feedback and suggestions regarding the availability of essential goods and the stability of market prices. He also held discussions with suppliers on various topics concerning consumer rights protection and their collaborative role with the Authority. Al-Hakmani emphasized the importance of establishing an effective partnership between the Authority, traders, and consumers, while promoting the concept of mutual cooperation within the community to serve the greater public interest.
Notably, this visit is part of a series of field tours conducted by His Excellency to markets and commercial centers across the Sultanate. These tours aim to provide a closer evaluation of market conditions, enhance the quality of services offered to consumers, and facilitate direct engagement with both consumers and suppliers to discuss matters related to the Authority’s mandate.
