The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), in collaboration with the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, orchestrated an event aimed at bolstering consumer awareness. This initiative was part of the concurrent "Edrak" awareness campaign organized by the authority.
CPA's involvement in this event is a proactive step to complement the activities aligned with the "Edrak" campaign. The primary aim is to enhance consumer awareness across diverse sectors of society, fostering an environment that upholds the rights of participants in various commercial transactions. The participation is planned to span four weeks, with activities scheduled every Monday morning. These activities encompass visual presentations in the form of images and clips tailored to different age groups. Additionally, there will be competitions and cultural engagements designed to educate attendees about their rights and responsibilities while shopping. The visual presentations will also focus on raising public awareness about prohibited goods, the risks they pose, the various forms of commercial fraud, the penalties imposed on offenders, and the importance of social responsibility in cultivating a secure marketplace. Furthermore, the visual content will introduce participants to the services offered by the CPA, with a focus on three key topics: fostering a safe consumer culture, combating commercial fraud, and identifying prohibited goods.
The Sports Spark sports event is organized by the Governorate of Muscat and the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, with support from Omran Group and in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth. CPA's involvement in this event underscores the significance of collaboration and partnership among various institutions, emphasizing its role in generating awareness and knowledge dissemination among diverse consumer groups within the framework of the "Edrak" campaign activities.
