At its first meeting of the year, the CPA Board of Directors reviews a number of decisions and topics

The Board of Directors of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) at its HQs held its first meeting for the current year 2024, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al-Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors, The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the CPA and several board members. The board members began the meeting by acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of CPA staff across the different governorates of Oman. They recognized the valuable role played by CPA personnel in all sectors and emphasized the importance of their continuous hard work toward achieving the organization's goals. Additionally, the board members emphasized the need to establish cooperative partnerships with both government and private entities in the Sultanate of Oman. Such partnerships would contribute to maintaining market stability, protecting consumers, and preserving their rights. The meeting included a discussion of several topics, decisions, and financial and administrative reports for the first quarter of this year, the most important of which was included in the annual report on statistical indicators for 2023, in addition to discussing the Authority’s previous plans that were implemented in them, and the initiatives that the CPA is currently working on, including the media campaigns and other initiatives. They also discussed some draft regulations and decisions and recommendations on them. They also discussed some memorandums of understanding with counterparts in some countries. Throughout the meeting, the board members emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among various entities and institutions to serve the public interest effectively.
